What is Anti-Aging IV therapy?

It is the intravenous administration of components targeting two mechanisms involved in skin aging — oxidative stress and glycation. It carries no claim of stopping or reversing aging. Sessions at IV Point take 45–60 minutes and follow a physician assessment.

Why Does Skin Age?

Skin aging is not a single process; it is three overlapping mechanisms.

1. Intrinsic (chronological) aging. The genetically determined, time-dependent natural process. We cannot change this.

2. Photoaging. Damage from sunlight, especially ultraviolet radiation. UV triggers the formation of reactive oxygen species in the skin, which degrade the structure of collagen and elastin.1 Most of the changeable part of skin aging sits here.

3. Glycation. A less-known but increasingly studied mechanism — covered separately below.

What Is Glycation?

Sugar molecules in the blood bind to proteins and, over time, form compounds called advanced glycation end-products (AGEs). The process is slow and particularly affects long-lived proteins.

Collagen and elastin in the skin are exactly that kind of protein. AGEs cross-link these fibres; the tissue stiffens, loses elasticity, and its mechanical properties change.2

Factors that increase glycation: a diet heavy in sugar and processed food, uncontrolled blood sugar, and UV exposure.

Carnosine is the component that comes in at this point. A natural dipeptide of beta-alanine and histidine, carnosine has been reported to show both antioxidant and anti-glycation properties, inhibiting AGE formation.3 Approaches targeting AGEs are an active field in skin-aging research.2

But a boundary note: most skin studies of carnosine used topical and oral forms. To our knowledge, there is no comparable study examining the effect of intravenous administration on skin. We write this because we don’t want to present what we don’t know as if we knew it.

“Does It Slow Down Aging?” — The Honest Answer

We need to answer this plainly, because it is the industry’s most exaggerated claim.

No — we make no such promise.

The free-radical theory of aging gave rise to the idea that antioxidant supplements might slow aging. But data from human studies do not show that antioxidant supplements extend lifespan.4

We are not hiding that from you — and the reason we still offer an antioxidant treatment is this: “extending lifespan” and “supporting the skin’s photoaging and glycation load” are different goals. The second is more modest, and more defensible.

What Is the Foundation of Skin Health?

Let’s say it up front: the factors that determine your skin’s long-term condition are these.

1. Sun protection. The most important way to reduce UV damage is avoiding sun exposure and using sunscreen. Antioxidant support comes second.1

2. Stopping smoking. Smoking accelerates skin aging by increasing oxidative activity.

3. Blood-sugar balance. Glycation relates directly to blood sugar; diet is the strongest determinant of this mechanism.

4. Sleep and diet.

These are the foundation of skin health. An antioxidant infusion without sunscreen is like heating a room with the window open. Our place is on top of that foundation: nutritional support aimed at the oxidative and glycation load.

About the Formula

Contents and doses are set individually after the pre-treatment assessment. The protocol includes:

  • Carnosine: for its antioxidant and anti-glycation properties; reported to inhibit AGE formation3
  • Low-dose NAD+: a coenzyme in cellular energy metabolism. Because it is used at a low dose, the infusion sensations seen with high-dose NAD+ are not expected
  • Niacinamide: a precursor in the NAD+ production pathway, and one of dermatology’s most-studied molecules
  • Glutathione: for its central role in cellular antioxidant defence
  • Vitamin C: a cofactor in collagen synthesis, found at high concentrations in healthy skin5

Why aren’t doses listed here?

Doses are set individually; we do not publish a standard dosing chart on the website. The contents and doses to be used are explained to you in detail before the session.

Potential Benefits

  • Support for antioxidant capacity — through glutathione and vitamin C
  • Support against the glycation load — through carnosine
  • Support for nutrients involved in collagen production — through vitamin C
  • A contribution to cellular energy processes — through NAD+ and niacinamide

Effects vary from person to person. This treatment does not slow aging, does not remove wrinkles, does not lighten skin colour, and does not replace dermatological or aesthetic procedures.

A boundary note: most data on these components’ skin effects come from oral and topical use. The extent to which intravenous administration provides these effects has not been shown.

Who Is It Not Suitable For?

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Kidney failure
  • Heart failure and serious heart disease — because of the risk of fluid overload
  • Active liver disease
  • Anyone receiving chemotherapy or radiotherapy — contains antioxidants; not administered without your oncologist’s approval
  • Known allergy to any component

Possible Side Effects

  • Temporary redness, tenderness or bruising at the IV site
  • A temporary sulfur-like taste or smell (from glutathione — harmless)
  • Nausea or dizziness with a fast infusion
  • A temporary feeling of warmth or flushing in the skin
  • Allergic reaction to a component (rare)

Equipment to respond to a possible allergic reaction is kept ready, and the treatment is carried out under the supervision of an anesthesiology specialist.

Before, During and After

Before: no need to fast. Tell us about your medications, chronic conditions and any heart problems.

During: 45–60 minutes. You can rest seated, work or listen to music.

After: no particular restrictions. Keep using sunscreen — this treatment provides no protection against sun damage.

If a mole or spot shows any of the following, it is worth having a dermatologist assess it:

  • Asymmetry — the two halves of the lesion don’t match
  • Border irregularity — ragged or blurred edges
  • Colour variation — more than one shade
  • Diameter — larger than 6 millimetres
  • Evolution — change in size, colour, shape or elevation

A lesion that bleeds, itches or doesn’t heal; a new dark line under a nail; a new, fast-growing spot — these should be assessed the same way.

Does it slow down aging?

No — we make no such promise. Human studies have not shown that antioxidant supplements extend lifespan.4 Our goal is more modest and more defensible: supporting the skin's oxidative and glycation load.

What is glycation and why does it matter?

It is blood sugar binding to proteins and forming compounds called AGEs. These compounds cross-link the skin's collagen and elastin fibres, stiffening the tissue and costing it elasticity.2 Long-lived proteins are the most affected.

What does carnosine do?

It is a natural dipeptide of beta-alanine and histidine. Besides its antioxidant property, it has been reported to show an anti-glycation effect and inhibit AGE formation.3 The skin studies on this were largely done with topical and oral administration.

Will it reduce my wrinkles?

We make no such promise. The approaches with proven effectiveness for wrinkles are dermatological and medical-aesthetic procedures. This treatment does not replace them.

How is it different from Botox and fillers?

They are entirely different things. Botox and fillers are procedures that produce a structural change in a specific area, and their effectiveness has been shown. This treatment is nutritional and antioxidant support; it creates no structural change in appearance. Neither is an alternative to the other.

What helps my skin most?

The foundation: sun protection, stopping smoking, blood-sugar balance, sleep and diet, and the topical treatments your dermatologist recommends.1 This treatment is a support added on top of that foundation; it does not replace it.

How many sessions are needed?

We do not propose a fixed course program. Frequency is decided at the assessment, based on your needs.

How is it different from NAD+ IV Therapy?

In this protocol, NAD+ appears at a low dose as a supporting component; the main target is the mechanisms of skin aging. NAD+ IV Therapy is a different treatment built on high-dose NAD+, and it takes longer.

Does it hurt?

Only a mild sting as the IV line is placed.
